An E-RYT with Yoga Alliance, Dana has been practicing Yoga since 1998 and teaching since 2009. An accomplished vocalist, Dana thoroughly enjoys chanting Kirtan, singing Klezmer music and just about anything else that’s soulful. Most importantly, she and her husband Andrew have 2 teenage boys from whom she learns more about herself and life than anybody!
Dana teaches traditional Hatha Yoga. Her personal style is strong and slow…transitioning mindfully, and holding the poses steadily in alignment to build a strong, supple body. The focus is always on proper breathing techniques to deepen mind-body awareness. She also teaches Yin Yoga and Laughter Yoga regularly. In all of her classes, Dana guides students to connect with their innate joy.
How Yoga Serves Dana
Yoga has served Dana tremendously on her journey of self-acceptance. Connecting breath to a moving meditation has helped her to be OK in her own body and quieted the self-limiting beliefs she first brought with her to the mat.
Words of Wisdom for Students
Dana believes a positive mental attitude can transform us toward our best, most authentic selves. You’ll often hear her tell students to smile to release stress and raise spirits while holding a challenging pose. Repeating “thank you, thank you, thank you” is another favorite of hers to ease us into gratitude.
